The Chicago Bulls are loaded at point guard heading into the 2011-12 season.  23-year old Derrick Rose is the reigning MVP of the NBA.  He played in 81 games (all starts) for the Bulls last year and he averaged 37.4 minutes, 25.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  Rose has now played in 240 games (239 starts) in his first three years with the Bulls and he is averaging 37.1 minutes, 20.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game.  Rose keeps getting better, so he should have another stellar season for the Bulls in 2011-12.  27-year old C.J. Watson was a disappointment for the Bulls last year.  He played in 82 games (1 start) for the Bulls last year and he averaged 13.3 minutes, 4.9 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game but he only shot 37.1% from the floor.  Watson has now played in 256 games (34 starts) in his first four years in the NBA and he is averaging 20.0 minutes, 7.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  32-year old Jannero Pargo plays both guard positions.  He played in 63 games (5 starts) for the Bulls last year and he averaged 13.1 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.  He has now played in 378 games (18 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 15.8 minutes, 6.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.  28-year old John Lucas played in only 2 games (0 starts) for the Bulls last year and he averaged 5.0 minutes, 1.0 point and 0.5 assists per game last year.  Lucas has now played in 62 games (0 starts) in his first three years in the NBA and he is averaging 8.1 minutes, 3.0 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  The Bulls are in great shape at point guard heading into the 2011-12 season.

The Chicago Bulls will only be doing minor tinkering with the roster when the lockout is lifted

The Bulls are already locked and loaded for the 2011-12 season.  I can see them maybe bringing in a couple of veteran players to sit at the end of the bench, but that’s about all they need.  The only position that is a weakness for the Bulls right now in shooting guard, but they can get by with some combination of Keith Bogans, Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer at the position.
