Omer Asik is playing decent basketball so far for the Chicago Bulls

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Tuesday 16 November 2010 at 5:24 pm

24-year old center Omer Asik is doing a decent job of backing up Joakim Noah.  The 7’0″, 255 pound rookie has played in 8 games (0 starts) for the Bulls so far this year and he is averaging 13.3 minutes, 3.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  He is also shooting 12 of 18 (66.7%) from the floor so far this year.  If Asik can give the Bulls 10-15 solid minutes this season off the bench the Bulls will be very happy with him.

Taj Gibson is stepping up for the Chicago Bulls

With Carlos Boozer out of action due to a broken hand the Bulls needed someone to step up. 25-year old Taj Gibson is doing a solid job of holding down the fort for the Bulls at power forward right now. Gibson has played in 7 games (all starts) for the Bulls so far this year and he is averaging 29.6 minutes, 15.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 blocked shots per game. The offense has been a surprise for the Bulls as Gibson is shooting 61.3% from the floor so far this year. The Bulls look like they will be in solid shape until Boozer returns to action.

Joakim Noah has been filling up the stat sheet this year for the Chicago Bulls

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Sunday 7 November 2010 at 9:02 am

25-year old center Joakim Noah has been looking like the Tasmanian Devil so far this year as has been all over the place for the Bulls. Noah has played in 5 games (all starts) for the Bulls so far this year and he is averaging 40.4 minutes, 16.2 points, 14.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.8 blocked shots per game. Noah is shooting 54.5% from the floor but most of his shots are putbacks and dunks. Still, Noah has taken his game to a brand new level because of his improved offensive game. Wait until Carlos Boozer gets back in action and then watch the Bulls take off as they will be dominating the glass.

Boston Celtics 110, Chicago Bulls 105 in OT

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Saturday 6 November 2010 at 4:29 pm

The Bulls outrebounded the Celtics 43-31 and they outscored the Celtics 32-24 to send this game into O.T. But the Celtics didn’t play any D in this game as the Celtics shot 51.2% from the floor and that did them in. Joakim Noah led the way for the Bulls last night with 26 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Luol Deng also had a solid game with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Taj Gibson (18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists) and Derrick Rose (18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists) also had good games last night for the Bulls. The Bulls are now 2-3 on the year.

New York Knicks 120, Chicago Bulls 112

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Friday 5 November 2010 at 7:32 am

The Bulls shot 51.9% from the floor but it just wasn’t enough last night. That’s because they didn’t play ANY defense as the Knicks shot 50% from the floor and 66.7% from three point range. Derrick Rose led the way for the Bulls last night with 24 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists and 1 steal. Taj Gibson filled up the stat sheet last night with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots. Kyle Korver pitched in with 18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 21 minutes off the bench. Luol Deng also filled up the stat sheet with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. The Bulls are now 2-2 on the year.

Derrick Rose is off to a great start for the Chicago Bulls

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 2 November 2010 at 2:54 pm

22-year old point guard Derrick Rose is getting a little more selfish, taking more shots and the results have been outstanding so far this year. Rose has started all 3 games for the Bulls so far this year and he is averaging 35.3 minutes, 27.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 blocked shot per game. Rose will likely have to keep shooting a heavy volume of shots until Carlos Boozer comes back because he’s by far the best offensive player the Bulls have right now.

Chicago Bulls 110, Portland Trailblazers 98

The Bulls shot an amazing 60.6% from the floor which was the main reason for this pretty easy home win earlier tonight. Luol Deng had a night to behold as he finished up with 40 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists to lead the way for the Bulls tonight. Deng shot 14 of 19 from the floor, 3 of 5 from three point range and he also made 9 of 11 free throws as it seemed like anything he was throwing up was going in the hoop no matter where he shot it from. Derrick Rose was incredible running the offense as he finished up with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists in this game. Taj Gibson (12 points), Kyle Korver (11 points) and Joakim Noah (10 points) also helped out for the Bulls tonight. The Bulls are now 2-1 on the season.
