The Bulls have re-signed 38-year old point guard Lindsey Hunter to a 1-year deal. Hunter played in 28 games (0 starts) for the Bulls last year and he averaged 9.5 minutes, 2.6 points, 0.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He has now played in 924 games (438 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 25.0 minutes, 8.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Hunter will give the Bulls solid defense off the bench and it was smart to bring him back.

The Bulls have bought out Tim Thomas’ contract for this season saving the team $6.5 million bucks. Thomas played in 18 games (0 starts) for the Bulls last season and he averaged 14.1 minutes, 5.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Thomas will no doubt sign on with another team and help them off the bench. He has played in 806 games (407 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 26.1 minutes, 11.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. Thomas still has some basketball left so he could back to haunt the Bulls this season.
