The Bulls have signed Joe Smith to a 2 year contract to take over P.J. Brown’s role on the team. Smith played in 65 games (11 starts) for the Nuggets and 76ers and he averaged 23.1 minutes, 8.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. Smith hit 44.9% of his shots from the floor and 84.5% from the free throw line last season.

Smith has now played in 816 games (576 starts) over his NBA career and he has averaged 28.8 minutes, 12.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Smith has made 45.4% of his shots, 23.9% of his three point attempts and 79.4% of his free throws. This was a nice signing by the Bulls as Smith showed he still has game after he was traded from the Nuggets to the 76ers in the Allen Iverson trade.

The Bulls have re-signed forward Andres Nocioni to a 5 year, $38 million dollar deal. This was a good move for the Bulls as Nocioni continues to improve as a player. He played in 53 games last season for the Bulls (31 starts) and he averaged 26.5 minutes, 14.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He also shot pretty well as he hit 46.7% from the floor, 38.3% from three point range and 84.8% from the free throw line.

Nocioni’s career numbers have spiked due to him having his best season last year. He has played in 216 games (112 starts) with the Bulls and he has averaged 25.6 minutes, 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He has shot 44.5% from the floor, 36.4% from three point range and 81.6% from the free throw line over his career.
