The Chicago Bulls draft Joakim Noah in the first round

Blogged under The Draft Report, Bloglockers, Big Bulls News, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 29 June 2007 at 5:21 pm

The Bulls will likely let Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas battle it out for the starting power forward position in Training Camp. Noah stands at 6′11″, 232 pounds and he’s a typical power forward as a lot of his game is played in the paint. Noah played in 108 games at Florida and he averaged 10.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.7 blocked shots per game. He shot 61.2% from the floor mostly on putbacks and dunks but he only hit 68.4% from the free throw line and that won’t get it done. Look for Noah’s playing style to inspire his teammates at times this season. He was an excellent pick at #9 for the Bulls……Thank you Knicks.

Joakim was a terrible pick. The bulls need an inside scorer and a big man. Joakim is a college player he cannot make it at the NBA level. Bulls should have picker the 7′1” Spencer Hawes from University of Washington. He scores, blocks, and rebounds great. With Hawes it would have created a dominant defensive force down low with Ben Wallace. The only thing Noah brings to the bulls is his intensity but that is already brought by Adrius Nochioni. Bulls GM you should read this because you’ve made a terrible pick.

We agree to disagree Jeremy. I think Noah will be a decent NBA player. I’m not sold on Hawes and I think Noah will have a better NBA career. Only time will tell with this pick.
