Underachieving Chicago Bulls need to turn it up in the 2nd half

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 9:38 pm

The Bulls looked like they would be a fantastic team on paper, but it hasn’t turned out that way this season. The Bulls are 29-25 this season and are tied with the Pacers for third place in the Central Division, 4.5 games behind the Pistons. The Bulls are currently the #6 seed in the Eastern Conference but they are only 4.5 games behind the #1 seed in the Conference (the Pistons). GM Jim Paxson is contemplating making a major move to shake up the roster with Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Pau Gasol the most talked about player with a future destination of Chicago. Paxson could decide to stay the course and let the current players try to pick up their game in the second half. It will be very interesting to see what the Bulls decide to do in the next couple of days.

Mike Sweetney needs to get away from the Buffet Table

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 4:00 pm

Mike Sweetney is a very skilled post player in the NBA, but until he can get his weight under control he’ll never be able to stay on the court long enough to make a difference for the Bulls. He’s only averaged 8.6 minutes per game this season and he scored 3.7 points and grabbed 2.7 rebounds per game. If you project those numbers out to 35 minutes per game, Sweetney would average a very solid 15 points and 11 rebounds per game….but those numbers are a pipe dream for him right now.
