Point Guards

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 30 October 2006 at 4:53 pm

The Bulls are really set at point guard. Kirk Hinrich is the starter and he just seems to get better every season. Hinrich is a little more of a scoring point guard than a pure one that always looks to pass first. Hinrich is a great hustle player and that fires up his team alot when he dives for balls on the floor. Hinrich has made himself into a good shooter, even though he’s only hit 40.2% of his shots for his career. Part of that is because he shoots alot of three-pointers and makes a good percentage of them (37.1%). He also is adept at making his free-tree throws, nailing 80.5% of them for his career. Hinrich only averages 3.6 rebounds per game, but that’s because he’s usually quite a ways from the basket. Hinrich averages 6.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game, which are both impressive numbers.

Chris Duhon is the back-up, and he’s more of a pure, pass-first point guard. Duhon only averages 7.3 point per game over his young career, but he gives the Bulls quality play every time he’s only the court. Duhon is a good 3-point shooter, nailing 35.7% of his 3′s for his career. Duhon also averages 4.9 assists and 1.0 steal per game.

The Bulls point guards are an almost perfect pair.
